Experience Designer & Artist
Emily's artwork has been expanding and developing further over the past several years. Her inspirations include immersive experiences, alternate realms and states, disorienting intersections, as well as the fantastical, uncanny, and sublime. Her fiction and poetry can be described as an esoteric grappling with the linear confines of the outside world vs. the organic state of the mind— which is often fluid, chaotic, and unsettling. Emily’s grouchiness around the problem of a culture obsessed with their assumptions rather than their real-life encounters is a theme manifested in her more abstract work, which she hopes, as the work evolves, will both subtly and overtly destabilize, disrupt and subvert the perpetuation of institutional norms.
